The purchasing procedure below is generally followed:

1. Determining Purchase Budget-prepares a purchase budget that

contains detailed information regarding quantity to be
purchased,
quality of materials, time of purchase and the sources of
procurement. A schedule of materials and components needed
for various jobs, known as bill of materials, is also prescribed for
working out details of purchase budget. A bill of materials is also
useful in exercising control over the utilization of materials.
2. Receipt of Purchase Requisition-a form used as a formal
request
to the purchasing department to purchase materials.
3. Determining Sources of Supply-determines the quantity of the
supply of a certain material.
4. Placing Order-a formal purchase order is sent for the supply of
goods.

It is also good to remember the different things to consider in

buying a certain handicraft material. Some of the key factors that
you need to consider before purchasing includes list of materials to
purchase and budget or capital allotted to it. It is needed that we
need to prepare the list of materials before purchasing since it
saves time, effort and money. We cannot afford to go back and
forth to the market/handicraft supply shop if we forgot something to
purchase. Remember, we have allotted budget to consider also.
