The effects of diabetes

When a person has a condition, their bodies are unable to make enough

insulin or utilise it appropriately. As a result, glucose metabolism necessitates

the production of insulin by a person's pancreas. Insulin is crucial for enabling

glucose into body cells, and the body uses glucose for energy. Insulin is

released by the pancreas in reaction to the glucose. The amount of glucose in

your bloodstream decreases as glucose enters your cells.

When a person has type 1 diabetes, their pancreas fails to produce insulin,

causing glucose to build up in their bloodstream. Glucose cannot enter a

person's cells without the help of insulin. Because the body is resistant to the

effects of insulin, a person with type 2 diabetes' pancreas secretes less insulin

than the body requires. Glucose cannot be used for energy in either kind of

diabetes, so it builds up in the bloodstream, posing a major health risk.
