What is Listening
• Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages
in the communication process.
• It involves making sense of spoken language and make use of what
we already know about the language.
• Listening is key to all effective communication. Without the ability to
listen effectively, messages are easily misunderstood.
• In a normal conversation, we need two or more people, the speaker and
listener(s).
• This process of communication include sender, encoding of a message,
selecting channel, receipt of the message by the receiver and decoding of
the message.
