Best Practices:

1. Written and Oral Math Drills

My method for assisting the students with difficulties in performing basic

integer operations is to use math drills. I did it before our scheduled class began. I have
two plans for how to carry it out: the first is the 1/4 drill, where they have 20 seconds
to respond to each question, and the second is “Choose your briefcase," where they
will select one case with five questions and respond verbally. t helps them think quickly
and become familiar with the laws of every operation.
2. Remedial

Remedial session was conducted for those students who frequently missed class and had failing
scores on a particular activity were given remedial exercise to complete. In order for them to understand
and follow the instructions to solve the problems given, I gave additional examples for each lesson before
we began. These examples were also placed on their worksheet. To ensure that they would finish each
segment and that I would have time to answer all of their questions, I gave them one hour each. I kept
track of the pupils who needed further help in order to succeed in the remedial exercises.
