THE WAY OF THE CROSS

Leader: In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
All: Amen

Leader: Brothers and Sisters, We have come together once more to follow the Lord Jesus
on the way that leads to Calvary. There we shall meet people who followed him to the
end
- his Mother, the Beloved Disciple, the women who followed him in his preaching of the
Good News—and all those, moved by compassion, who sought to console him and to
alleviate his pain. We shall also meet those who called for his death and whom he, in an
abundance of love, forgave.
Let us ask him to pour forth into our hearts the sentiments that were his (Phil 2:5) so that
we may "know him, and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings,
becoming like him in his death, that if possible [we] may attain the resurrection from the
dead" (Phil 3:10-11). This year, in which the date of Easter is providentially the same in all
the Churches, our thought goes to Jesus' disciples, who throughout the world
commemorate on this same day his death and his being placed in the tomb.
OPENING HYMN: TELL THE WORLD OF HIS LOVE
For God so loved the world Let us tell the world of His love
He gave us Him only Son The greatest love the world has known
Jesus Christ our Savior Search the world for those who have walked
His most precious One Astray and lead them home
He has sent us His message of love Fill the world's darkest corners
With His light from up above
And sends those who hear
Walk every step, every mile, every road
To bring the message to everyone
And tell the world, tell the world of His love
In a voice loud and clear

Leader: Lord Jesus Christ, as we gather here to meditate on your Paschal Mystery, grant us
all the grace to detest sin as you did, and to spend our life for our neighbor as you taught
us through your example. Thus shall we be able to share not only in your sufferings but also
