Noun classes-izigaba zamabizo (telling us where each noun belongs) these include
singular and plural words-ubunye nobuningi.

2. Verbs- izenzo( what we do) eg: hamba-go, funda- read/study, hlala-sit, gijima-run, idla-
eat, gqoka- get dress/ dress up, thatha-take, khuluma- speak/talk etc.

3. Adjective- iziphawulo (Adjectives tell us more information about a noun)

Impindwa (Refrain)
● It is where the whole line is repeated, similar to the chorus. It is usually the first line in
every stanza.

Imvumelwano (Rhyme):
● Repetition of sounds.

Imvumelwano Siqalo (Initial Rhyme)


● Repetition found at the beginning

Imvumelwano maphakathi(Internal rhyme)


● Repetition found in the middle.

Imvumelwano sigcino(End rhyme)


● Repetition found at the end

Ukuxhumana-Linking
● Refer to the repetition of the whole word(s).
● We find the link when words are the same on two or more consecutive lines.
