Evidence that suggests that the golden ratio and golden rectangle hold particular
balance as well as beauty, is the philosophy of aesthetics. It was said as many ancient
architectures showed measurements closely matching the golden rectangle.

In what way does the golden ratio appear in Fibonacci sequence?


There is a special relationship between the Golden Ration and Fibonacci numbers.
Suppose that we take any two consecutive Fibonacci numbers, their ratio is very close to the
Golden Ratio. So just like we naturally get seven arms when we use 1/7, in any given sequence,
we tend to get Fibonacci numbers when we use Golden Ratio.

Draw a line segment 6 inches long. Subdivide it according to the golden ratio. Verify your work
using the concept of dividing a line segment by Euclid.

Coloring/Tracing Activity on Fibonacci Numbers


Color the spirals in both directions. The resulting numbers are usually two consecutive
Fibonacci numbers (e.g., 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, . . .). How many spirals are present in both
directions?
