Ano ang Industrial Goods?


Ito yung mga materials used in the process of making other goods. Ito yung mga bagay na
kinakailangan para mabuo yung mga produkto na binibili natin sa tindahan. They are made up
of machinery, manufacturing plants, raw materials, and any other good or component used by
industries or firms.

Merong 3 Classification for Industrial Goods:

1. Materials & Parts


- Goods that enter the manufacturers ‘product directly
- There are 2 types of materials that are commonly used for industrial goods:
a. Farm Products
- can be reproduced or recycled easily
- perishable and have to be handled accordingly
- example: eggs, fruits and vegetables
b. Natural products
- occurring naturally in the earth
- cannot be recycled or re produced
- example: petrol and diesel
- The rarer they the higher the value

2. Capital Items
- Important for large scale industries
- these are items necessary for the functioning of the organization
- Items needed for long term
a. Installation
- factories, warehouses and other buildings
- require long time installation and are used for an even longer time
b. Equipment
- heavy machineries as well as a utilities
- For factories: caterpillars, trucks, cranes
- For industrial services: computers, hardware and design
equipment, printers, copiers
- They have a short span of life when compared to installations

3. Supplies and Business Services


- goods or material which is necessary for the day to day
operations
- marketed via intermediaries and not directly through companies
- Example: Maintenance and repair supplies
Product Differentiation
- characteristics that make your product or service stand out to your target audience
- These are the examples:
1. Form
2. Features
3. Performance quality - what extent a product or service meets the expectations of the
customer
4. Conformance quality - measures if processes are carried out the way they were intended
to be carried out
5. Durability - is the ability of a physical product to remain functional, without requiring
excessive maintenance

Services Differentiation
- the specific way in which a company provides certain services to its customers
1. Ordering ease - kung gano ka smooth yung pag-place ng order
2. Delivery - ito na yung mismong process pag-acquire ng items/products
3. Installation
4. Customer training - the process of educating your customers on how to successfully use
your product or services in order to meet their goals
5. Customer consulting - advice services the seller offers to buyers
6. Maintenance and repair
7. Returns

Design
- The totality of features that affect the way a product looks, feels, and functions to a
consumer
- functions:
● Is emotionally powerful
● Transmits brand meaning/positioning
● is important with durable goods
● Makes brand experiences rewarding
● Can transform an entire enterprise
● Facilitates manufacturing/distribution
● Can take on various approaches
