TRAVERSE PROCEDURE

Step 1 : Gather the equipment

 Tripod
 Total station
 Prism
 Mini prism
 Battery
 Nail
 Hammer

Step 2 : Establish a new temporary benchmark

 Find picket or tapped the wooden stake to the ground to establish new point.

Starting from station 2

Step 3 : Set up the Tripod

 While holding the tripod, loosen the tripod leg cramps and extend.
 The tripod up to a height near your neck and chin tighten the leg cramp.
 Spread out the tripod leg evenly about two to three feet for each leg and center it over
your benchmark.
 Step on 1 leg of the tripod only as tempory.

Step 4 : Set the instrument on the tripod

 Lock it under the total station.

Step 5 : Coarse level the tripod over the benchmark

 Adjust the total station to the picket form an optical plumnet.

 By lift up 2 leg of tripod a bit and mark with your foot to make it easy to find the
picket.
 Lock it tighly after the adjustment.
 Set the bubble for the stability.

 If the instrument run a bit from the picket.

 Only move the total station a bit to center the benchmark.

Step 6 : Move to station 3 to set up Prism

 Tapped a small nail into a center of a wooden stake, pound the stake as fast as
possible into the ground.
Repeat srep 3 to set up the instrument
  The top of your instrument should be mostly level and parallel with a horizontal
plane.
 Adjust the prism and lock it carefully.

Step 7 : Move to Station 1 to set up Prism

 Repeat step 3 to set up the instrument.

 Adjust the prism and lock it carefully.

Step 8 : Install battery and start to surveying

 Firstly, take the data from Face left.

 Focus the total station to prism (2-1).
 Set 00’00’00 from (2-1).
 Push the triangle button to get “Data of Height”.
 Jotted down the data that need to set before surveying.
 After set the instrument, turn the instrument to left (2-3).
 Focused the total station to prism (2-3).
 Jotted down the data from the total station for face left.
 Turn the total station to face right.
 Lock the total station carefully.
 Set 180’00’00, surveying and jotted down the data.

After that, remove the instrument and move to the next station.
( Station 2,3 ).
Repeat Step 1 to Step 8 carefully.
Repeat all the step station by station.
Transfer all the data into the Terabas Form and do calculation.
