I am writing on behalf of Mya VonBank. I have known Mya as she progressed through the teacher
education program at Dakota State University. As Mya’s student teaching university supervisor, I have
had the pleasure of working closely with her as she completed the rigorous student teaching program
through DSU. During this time, I have observed Mya’s compassion for working with students and her
drive to be successful in this career.

While acting as Mya’s supervisor, I have observed her efficiently manage and instruct students at a fifth-
grade level. Mya has experience with developing lessons and implementing instruction for both whole
group and small group settings; she strives to finds way to provide hands-on learning opportunities for
her students that are engaging and memorable. She is quick to seek advice from other professionals
within the field and pursues opportunities to implement new strategies and technology into her lessons
to engage learners.

One of Mya’s most admirable traits is her ability to develop relationships with her students. She works
hard to find ways to relate to her learners and to create a classroom that is safe and friendly. Her
friendliness can also be seen as a grade-level team member as well; she is eager to help others out
within the district and seeks opportunities to grow professionally.

Mya is a compassionate and enthusiastic educator, and she would be an asset to any school district.
