WORKSHEET IN LESSON PLANNING

1. Research and understand the three models of lesson planning.

Detailed lesson plan

A detailed plan covers everything and gets teachers fully prepared for the lesson ahead. It covers
what to teach and all the activities students will complete in that lesson.

Semi-detailed lesson plan

Semi-detailed plans are less intricate than detailed ones, but they still focus on what you want to
cover for that subject on that day. They act as a general game plan for what will go on in the
lesson.

Understanding by design lesson plan

Understanding by design is more of a framework. This "backward design" looks at outcomes
first to design curriculum units and is focused on improving student achievement using it.

2. Choose one model in writing your sample lesson plan.

(Semi-detailed lesson plan)

3. Fill in the information needed in the table below which depicts the lesson plan
outline.
Grade level Grade 4
Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan

Time Duration 30-45 min

Topic DISCOVERY APPROACH

Objectives At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

1. identify perpendicular, parallel, and intersecting

lines. 2. differentiate perpendicular, parallel, and
intersecting lines.
3. illustrate perpendicular, parallel, and intersecting
lines.

Materials Projector, Laptop, Textbook, Instructional Materials

Procedure: A. Engagement

1. Prayer
2. Check-up of Assignment

Direction: Match column A with column B

1. Lines that intersect with each other and form a

square corner. A. Parallel Lines
2. Lines that do not meet. B. Perpendicular Lines 3.
Lines that come from each other. C. Intersecting Lines

C. Motivation

• Who among you has gone to cities like

Manila? • What can you say about the roads
in Manila?

D. Unlocking of Difficulties

• Presentation

a. Marian is a tourist guide. She takes Japanese

tourists to different places in Metro Manila,
passing through EDSA.

Can you imagine intersections on the map? Can you

see straight roads? Can you see the roads that meet?

b. Roads can represent lines. There are lines that do

not meet or cross even if both ends are extended.
There are also lines that meet at a common point.
Look at the different lines again.
c. Lead the pupils to identify the lines.

Assessment/ Instructions: In your own understanding, answer

Evaluation the followingquestions.

1. What type of lines are in a plane and

intersect to form rightangles?

2. What type of lines are in a plane that crosses at

exactly one pointto form angles?

3. What are intersecting lines?

4. What type of line does the picture represent?

5. What type of line does the picture represent?

Assignment: Given below are lines. Identify the

perpendicular, parallel, and intersecting lines that you can
see. Write the answer using symbols.
