Control Function - Major Type of Control

 Control Functions
 Manual-type: The operators make decisions in operation.
 Automatic-type: The system makes decisions in operation based on calculation.
* To enhance system availability, each type of control is performed individually in
its own equipment.

Major Type of Control

Control Type Control Name Descriptions

Manual-type Opening/Closing control Gate operation is performed by the Open/Close button.

Opening degree setting control
Automatic-type Water flow rate setting control
Water flow rate constant control
Water level constant control
Stop control is performed based on operators’ decision.
Gates are opened/closed to a preset target opening
degree and stopped.
Gates are automatically controlled to a preset target
water flow rate by automatically calculating the gate
opening degree based on flow conditions.
Gates are automatically controlled to keep a preset
water discharge volume.
Gates are automatically controlled to keep a preset
water level.

 One of other dam-related systems is a dam control

simulator.
 The Dam Control Simulator is intended for efficient
education and training of dam operators.
 The on-the-job training would involve a risk in event of
flood situation.
 The Dam Control Simulator can
reproduce various flood situations
to allow the operators to be trained
for proper dam control operations.
