standard sizes.
Two of the most
common
architectural
drawing sizes are
18” x 24” and 24” x

What is the standard size for construction plans?
The drawing sizes for construction plans will come in several different formats — with 18” x 24” and
24” x 36” being the most common. But you can also find larger plans at 30” x 42” and 36” x 48”. Larger
sizes are necessary for bigger properties. But regardless of the blueprint paper size, the plan will have
the following information:
Exterior elevations
Floor plans
Building sections and details
Roof plan
General notes

They’ll also have a map of the electrical layout, as well as any suggested locations for fixtures and

What are the dimensions for D-size paper?

The standard sizes for architectural plans and engineering plans are different, so it will depend on
what type of drawing you’re looking at. Architectural drawing sizes are based on the ARCH scale,
while engineering drawing paper sizes are based on the ANSI scale. D-size paper for architectural
plans is 24” x “36” inches (or 609.6 x 914.4 millimeters), while D-size paper for engineering plans is 22”
x 34” (or 558.8 x 863.6 millimeters). There are, of course, other drawing paper sizes. So if you’re
