1.1 ANALYSIS (Communication)

Task
1. Listen to a radio speaker or a TV
commentator’s evaluation of a social issue
(corruption in the government, drug abuse,
crime problem, rising prices of goods, traffic
and health crisis).
Report/Observation
On January 26, 2023, as reported in ABS-
CBN News, "Jullebee Ranara," a Pinay
domestic helper, was found dead in the
middle of a desert in Kuwait. Ranara was
raped, killed, and burned by the 17-year-old
son of her employer. The suspect has been
arrested by Kuwaiti police on murder charges;
he also admitted what he did, and his family
will shoulder the expenses of transporting
Ranara's body to the Philippines.

Many Filipinos are aware of this issue, and

they are asking for justice, especially her
family. Sen. Raffy Tulfo took action on this
issue, and he wants a total deployment ban
on Kuwait after Ranara's slaying, and he also
said OFWs can also be sent to "safer" places
such as Romania, Austria, and Hong Kong.

I also noticed the other Filipinos commenting

on this issue, and they ask, "What if Ranara
wasn't killed?" "What if he wasn't on the
news?" "What if she asked for help but was
not helped?" These questions made me think:
what if nga ba? Because there are also many
Filipinos being hurt in other countries that are
not reported, how are they? There are also
many OFW who are suffering and constantly
complaining, but why are they not helped?
This question, in our minds, is impossible to
answer. However, we are incredibly grateful
that Ranara is now getting the justice that was
deserved for her.
2. Think about a movie that you find The movie that is unforgettable for me is
unforgettable. Was it amusing, exciting, "Seven Sundays" on ABS-CBN. This movie is
historical, educational, humorous, colorful, all about family. I'm not sure it’s the best way
 and realistic. to tell the story, but we Filipinos do tend to be
like that, carrying heavy baggage but still
smiling and acting like everything’s okay. And
here, the Bonifacio family relates to almost
every Filipino family there is. from
miscommunication, the feeling of not being
favored by your parents, the fights and
misunderstandings, and even the little white
lies because we don’t want to hurt anyone. It
gets the Filipino family, and the message it
wants to send is that the family will always be
there, no matter what. There is one thing in
the movie that is awkwardly and
unnecessarily said. But either way, "Seven
Sundays" is a pleasant family drama comedy
that might make you cry more than once. and
this movie reminds us that whatever and
whenever futures we have, we should never
forget our families, especially if we already
have our own family. Never forget your
parents, because they are the reasons for
whatever we have so far.

- In your own words, Please write a one sentence definition of Effective Communication. And
explain it in one paragraph.

Effective communication involves exchanging information face-to-face. This interaction is

essential for effective communication. For me, face-to-face communication is more effective
because I, or the receiver, can observe the sender's facial emotions and body language. Also,
he or she can hear the tone of the sender's voice. This provides the conversation with greater
context. By observing the recipient's facial expression, it also enables the sender to know if their
message has been received.

2. Think about a movie that you find
unforgettable. Was it amusing, exciting,
historical, educational, humorous, colorful,
and realistic.
Report/Observation
The news on January 28, 2023, in the 24-hour
weekend was the increase in the price of
eggs, allegedly due to the increase in chicken
feeds. This issue of our country’s price
increase has affected many citizens. The egg
issue has made people even more difficult to
deal with because it is always used in
restaurants such as Silogs. The simultaneous
increase in prices is making our lives as
Filipinos even more difficult, as is the non-
increase in wages. So others prefer to buy
frozen eggs—these are the scrambled eggs—
and bring them frozen so that they don’t spoil,
and it’s cheaper than fresh eggs that reach 9-
10 pesos, which used to be 6 pesos. Because
of this news, I had an idea of how to save
money, and because of this, I found out why
foods with eggs continue to increase.
The movie that I can’t forget is the drama from
Korea, The 21st Century Girl; I know that
everyone has seen it. This is the story of a
woman who loved, lost, left because of death,
and had a relationship because of friendship.
In this movie, a woman proves how much she
loves her friend by saying that she did
everything for his love because she knows he
is sick and needs to get better. In this movie, I
learned how to value one’s own happiness
and that one needs to pay attention to oneself
because, like them, we love and feel
something too, so it is better to confess early
because we don’t know the time and one day
we may not see the one we love anymore
because we let go for the happiness of others.
How important it is to have communication
with each other so that they know what you
want from others and yourself because having
communication with others is the key to our
liberation.

- In your own words, Please write a one sentence definition of Effective Communication. And
explain it in one paragraph.
Effective communication is the way to liberation. Talking to others is where we
sometimes learn a lesson and learn to appreciate the things that we take for granted.
Communication is our way of having a new goal in life and deciding what should be
changed and what we should do with ourselves, especially with the people we surround
ourselves with. Sometimes talking to others is what frees us, just like the advice of our
friends when we keep making fools of people who don't love us, because by talking we
will know how important we are and how many people love us. Effective communication
is the best way for our decisions to be made, because, as the saying goes, don't be shy
to ask questions.
