UED102 E-PORTFOLIO
INTRODUCTION
So, my main purpose in writing this portfolio is to introduce UED102. This subject is
compulsory and essential for every Semester 1 student. It helps students to overcome
academic problems that they are facing when they step into the university level. There
are 7 modules that I learned throughout this whole subject.

For this part, I learned a lot about the differences and the transitions from
school life to university life. These are a few transitions that I learned:

Transition is a process of change or shift from one state to another. Basically, transitioning is not an easy task. Adapting
to a new life is a long process and very difficult to do so, especially when it comes to university life. We have to be
independent in terms of finance, help from our parents and etc. as we are living far away from them. Moreover, we have
to make friends and meet new people, find out new things by ourselves, and make necessary adjustments to our old
lifestyle as we stepped into a new phase of life. Adapting to a new life is hard but, every cloud has a silver lining, as it is
a worthwhile experience.

The
re are 8 steps to be a successful college student. These steps are very reliable and I personally have been following these
steps since the first day I came here. These are a few examples that I use until now:
1) Attend all classes - Attending classes is compulsory in order to stay up to date with the syllabus. Not only that,
but we can also ask the lecturer physically which is the most efficient way to understand the topic that you have
left out.
2) Become an active learner- This will make you an energetic student and will boost your morale.
3) Form study groups with friends- Forming a study group will help you gain more knowledge rather than self-
studying. This is because you will gain more ideas from your groupmates.
4) Work hard this semester- By working hard, you will earn a Dean’s list and make your CGPA above 3.50.

WHAT IS MEMORY?
Memory is the process of reproducing or recalling what has been learned and retained
especially through associative mechanisms.
3 types of memory:
1) Sensory memory- numerous incoming pieces of information will be stored for an
instant.
2) Short-term memory- only has limited storage. The information given must be
repetitive in order to make it as long-term memory.
3) Long-term memory- an unlimited memory and has large storage. If the information
is not being used in a long period of time, it will start fading away and lost.
