Curriculum gaps identified based on PO correlation with all subjects as per program specific
curriculum

Fig: program level courses contribution to POs

The above figure represents the program level courses contribution to POs and PSOs. It is seen that
percentage of contribution to all POs are different. By keeping 80% as the threshold value, the
following curriculum gaps are identified in the course structure of R13.
 PO2 has variation of 1% from the threshold value. So curriculum needs more focus on
Problem Analysis aspect.
 PO4 has variation of 9% from the threshold value. So curriculum needs focus more on
research based knowledge.
 PO6 has variation of 3% from the threshold value because Curriculum is offering only few
courses towards the social responsibility for an engineering graduate and ethics to be
inculcated. So curriculum needs more focus on social responsibility.
 Curriculum is less focusing on Environment and sustainability, so graduates need more
awareness on Environment and sustainability.

Steps taken to get identified gaps included in the curriculum (2)

Based on the gaps on the identified in the curriculum, a letter had been sent to the JNT University,
Kakinada to incorporate the gaps in the curriculum in the next regulations. Department Academic
Committee shall discuss about the content of the current scheme with the help of course feedback
surveys, graduate surveys, alumni surveys, employer surveys etc. and shall formulate
recommendations for the next scheme.
