“What are social problems, struggles and negative outcome of being

teenage parents?”

Chapter 1
Adolescent pregnancy, commonly referred to as teenage pregnancy, is when a woman becomes
pregnant before turning 20. Sexual activity after the beginning of ovulation, which can happen
before the first menstrual period but typically happens after the start of periods, might result in
pregnancy.

The number of births per 1,000 adolescent girls in the world between the ages of 15 and 19 has
decreased by more than 30%, from 65 to 43 births. The study shows that teenage pregnancy
rates have declined over the decade. The downward trend in teenage pregnancy rates, while
minimal, points to the need for a concerted effort to further reduce teenage pregnancy.
Understanding the sociocultural and demographic factors that influence teenage pregnancy is
important for designing appropriate interventions to address these challenges. Strengthening
reproductive health services and programs targeting adolescents and adopting a multisectoral
approach may help improve adolescent health outcomes.

Adolescent mothers and their offspring are a high risk group both physically and emotionally.
Poverty, malnutrition, complications of pregnancy, emotional problems such as depression,
drug and alcohol use, are all risk for the mother. Children are also at greater risk for physical,
cognitive and emotional problems. adolescent girls, especially early puberty, are especially
vulnerable to the health effects of pregnancy and childbirth because their bodies may not be
ready for it. Obstetric fistula, eclampsia, puerperal endometritis and systemic infections are just
a few of the serious illnesses they may face in the short and long term. Maternal morbidity is
one of the leading causes of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) and death for girls aged 15 to
19 globally

teen parents often find that for a child makes it difficult for them to continue their schooling.
Teen parenting is hard because they are still not financially stable to support the needs of their
child and themselves. It is also hard for them to balance going to school and parenting as
parenting is full-time responsibility. Lack of information about sexual and reproductive health
and rights. Inadequate access to services tailored to young people. Family, community and
social pressure to marry. Sexual violence. Child, early and forced marriage, which can be both a
cause and a consequence. Teenage pregnancy is a major public health problem, it is
widespread, largely preventable, and has negative consequences for both pregnant adolescents
and their children. Compared with infants born to older mothers, infants born to adolescents
have lower birth weight, higher infant mortality, higher risk of early childhood hospitalization,
less supportive home environment, poorer cognitive development, and if If you are a woman,
the risk is higher than if the teen conceived herself. For those under the age of 15, there are
extra issues because they are less likely to be physically capable of supporting a healthy
pregnancy or giving birth.

High teen birth rates may be influenced by social determinants of health, such as a teen's family
's level of education and money. adolescent pregnancy and birth are more likely to occur amon
g specific groups of teenagers than amongother groups. teenage mothers are more likely to
experience positive psychological and economic outcomes when they finish high school. many
high schools offer classes or arrange for the mother of a teen to help her through school. while
finishing school can add to the stress, it's important for a teenage mom and her child's future.
This research aims to raise public awareness among all people, particularly young people—
boys, and girls—about how to prevent becoming pregnant too young and suffering the
consequences. Everyone will acquire a lesson from it in terms of how to lessen these individuals
and listen to those who have experienced it.
