Bitza vehicle going cheap

ttending the World of Wheels car show at the Tradex exhibition centre, I spotted a military vehicle that I had never seen before. However, the front end looked very familiar, so my curiosity prompted some further research. The manufacturer of the Reynolds Boughton was a private venture by the Boughton Group. The end result is a combination of vehicle parts, or as we call them, a bitza vehicle (bits of this and bits of that!). Most North Americans will recognize the front of a Dodge Van which is used as the cab. It is mounted on a Renault G300 ladder-type truck chassis using a Perkins Phaser 110MT diesel engine as a power source. This particular unit is only

collector classics a two-seater, but an extended crew cab conversion was available for carrying extra personnel and equipment. To reduce the weight, the folddown sides, headboard and tailgate are constructed from aluminum.

The RB-44 was selected by the British army as the successful contender to replace the aging Land Rover Forward Control 101. The original order was for 846 vehicles, but the final figure was nearly double that.
