Thank you for giving our company the opportunity to submit a proposal to West
City Council. This is a fascinating project, which we would enjoy working on with
the West City Council.
Architecture For Sydney is pleased to submit our proposal for Architectural
Services associated with the proposed multipurpose sports facilities within the
parklands in West Sydney Coucil.
Our team of eight consists of myself as the nominated architect, two senior
architects, three graduate architects, a draftsman and a graphic designer. We
offer a wide range of expertise across projects of numerous scales. We also
have strong ties to various architectural schools as occasional lecturers and
tutorers.
Architecture For Sydney has an extensive background designing park pavilions,
as we’ve completed similar council projects around NSW. Some of these
projects include:
- Macarthur Park Pavilion: Located in southwest
Sydney, this project embraces its immediate context
and cultural influences. The Dharawal peoples’
heritage is celebrated through architectural elements,
emphasising unity and togetherness for future
generations.
- Inner West City Athletics Facility: Located in Tempe,
this sustainably-built and -designed building supports
the needs of the local track and fields community. This
project was in collabration with DKO Architects.
We would love to tell you more about these projects, and to share more

community, in enhancing your community facilities in support of the residents
and groups.

THE PROPOSAL
Architecture For Sydney proposes to work collaboratively with the West City Council to
produce sustainable and respectful park pavilions. This project will support the current
and emerging communities throughout this vibrant city.
PROJECT BRIEF
Our proposal is based on the brief that you have provided, which we have summarised
below:
- Sports Park. 9 Hectares, 30 car spaces, marked out for junior soccer/rugby
fields.
- Central Park. 5 Hectares, Large bushland areas, multiple running & walking
tracks, BBQs.
- Sunset Park. 19 Hectares, Significant extant bushland areas, a large promontory
with important, verified Indigenous rock art, multiple walking tracks.
- Green Park.1 6 Hectares, AFL/Cricket Oval, Native Planting, BBQs.
STAGES OF THE PROJECT
The architectural stages included in this submission are shown below. A detailed
description of the tasks within each phase is listed in our Client and Architect Agreement.
- Concept Design
- Design Development, including the Development Application
- Construction Documentation, including the Construction Certificate application.
We would be more than happy to provide you with a fee for the Tender and Construction
stages of the project, should this ever be required. However, at this stage these
components of the project are not included in our fee.
RESOURCING THE PROJECT
Our office is adequately resourced so that we could commence the project within 5
business days, once we are commissioned.

METHOD OF COMMUNICATION
It is expected that the primary points of communication are to be between Joel Sawyer
and Darcy Byrne (Major of West City Council). Architecture For Sydney will also issue
minutes of all meetings between the two parties, as promptly as possible, after each
meeting.
