The Battle of Bạch Đằng is an animated movie about Ngô Quyền, a great leader in
Vietnamese history. In 938, a strong army from the Han Dynasty invaded Vietnam. Ngô
Quyền led the Vietnamese forces and won the battle of Bạch Đằng River. Ngô Quyền told his
soldiers to put sharp stakes into the bottom of the river. As the Han army sailed up Bạch
Đằng River on large boats, the river's water level started to fall. The stakes in the river
appeared and broke their boats. Ngô Quyền's army attacked them and easily won the battle.
A year later, Ngô Quyền became the king and moved the capital city to Cổ Loa (today's
Đông Anh, Hanoi). The Battle of Bạch Đằng is a very interesting movie about Vietnamese
history, and the animation is great.
