Learning Outcomes:

● Art 4-1.2.2: Apply colours with varying values and intensities to artworks

Learning Objectives:
● At the end of the lesson, students will be able to
○ Recognize and appreciate color in art.
○ Understand how color is used in art to enhance and depreciate subject matter in art.
○ Use color when painting to express themselves

Assessments:
- Think/Pair/Share (F)
- First layer of painting (F)

Materials:
● Paint
● Paper
● Paper plates for the paint
● Paintbrushes
● Sponges
● Garbage bags to line the floor
● Tape to tape the bags together
● Paint aprons (Mrs. Thomas’ room)

LESSON PLAN (30 minutes)

Introduction: (10 minutes)


● Name on the back!
● Organize students in the classroom with garbage bags underneath the paper.
● Distribute the paint so students have easy access to it. - Only 3-4 colors per person!
● Remind the students of techniques to drip paint.

Lesson: (10 minutes)


● Students can use the rest of the period to do the first stage of their painting.

Conclusion: (10 minutes)


● Take the last 5 minutes to clean up
○ Put paintings in the hallway to dry
○ Clean up paint and garbage bags.
