Getting along with your coworkers is incredibly important since they are a part of your daily life. I want to
work in the banking and finance industry, and there are three qualities that I hope my coworkers and I will
possess.
Most importantly, I think that coworkers should be honest. Offices and boardrooms can be ugly places
when there are rumors and accusations being spread around behind a person’s back. If my coworkers are upset
or confused by my words or actions. I hope that they can patiently address me. For example, if a coworker
believes I work too slowly, I would rather have them speak to me directly than to hear them complaining to
the boss. Kind honesty can make a workplace run much more smoothly.
Thoroughness is a second quality that I believe is essential in quality coworkers. Efficiency in work is
important, but it is useless if the end product does not meet specified standards. I would want my coworkers to
carefully explain concepts and directions to both clients and myself. In banking and finance, people are
calculating and transferring large sums of money on a daily basis. To keep clients satisfied, accuracy is
absolutely necessary. If a client found that their financial portfolio was undervalued due to a simple
accounting error, they might take their business elsewhere.
Finally, I believe that the most important quality in a coworker is passion. If a person does not love their
work, they will not perform their duties to their fullest potential. A coworker may be brilliant and efficient,
but if they lack a true appreciation for their duties they will not contribute all that they could. Such a coworker
 in banking in finance may perform satisfactorily, but they will probably be resentful when asked to take on
new responsibilities.
In conclusion, I believe the three most important qualities that a coworker should possess are honesty,
thoroughness, and passion in their work. If these three ingredients are present in the work environment,
individuals and the companies they work for can meet remarkable goals.
