 INTRODUCTION
As education majors at
Mount Aloysius, we wanted to
focus our community project
to benefit the children in the
area. When reaching out to
different places to potentially
do our project at, we came
across Lake Rowena. The lake
was already equipped with a
lending library for kids, so we
knew they valued the children
in the area as much as we

did. It was a perfect fit for us!

 OBJECTIVE

The objective of our project was to

provide an opportunity for the
children within our Cambria County
to come together at Lake Rowena
to enjoy nature as well as learn to
appreciate nature and keeping our
environment clean.

 SCAVENGER HUNT

We included items on the

scavenger hunt they we were
certain the kids would see. We
also added in things such as
picking up trash and admiring
nature so they would become
more cognizant of it and
hopefully do it more in the future!
We also included our emails
incase anybody wanted to teach
out.

 OUR METHOD
1 Developed an idea- Were all early education
majors so we knew we wanted to do something
for the kids in our community to educate them
on the environment.

2 Made a plan- We planned a phone call with Dirk

at Lake Rowena. We discussed our plan,
materials, a date, and a time

3 Execution- As a group, we went to Lake

Rowena to complete our project

 PROJECT DELIVERY
● Majority of the project included the planning and creation of
the material
● Additionally the rest included the installation of the storage box
○ The storage box had a sign on the outside to inform park
visitors of the scavenger hunt
○ We also plan to inform local school districts
about this educational
activity when it is springtime

 CONCLUSION

In conclusion, we are grateful that we

completed this project, and excited
to see the impact it has on the
Cambria County community. We plan
to replenish the supplies in our
mailbox to ensure each and every
child has the opportunity to learn
about nature and appreciate our
beautiful environment!
