Paridhi Tiwari is an international student from Delhi, India attending her first year at the University of Regina. During the COVID-19 lockdown, she spent more time indoors playing games like chess since outdoor activities were shut down, and she started baking and cooking more with supplies her parents bought, posting her creations online and receiving compliments from friends and family. The lockdown also allowed her to strengthen her bond with her family by spending more quality time together without other leisure activities available.

Hi everyone, my name is Paridhi Tiwari. I am from Delhi, India.
I am an international student and this
is my first year in university of Regina. During my high school, I used to play basketball with my classmates occasionally however, I was more interested in indoor games like chess. But after covid-19 everything got shut down so I started becoming bored of playing only indoor games and spend most of my time in my room with my electronic gadgets. The most unique experience was when there was lockdown, my parents bought a lot of groceries and baking items which helped me in mastering my cooking. I used to post a lot of items that I used to either bake or make at my home which helped me getting compliments from my friends and relatives. I used to spend a lot of time with my family which made our bond stronger. Covid helped us in making us realise that even if we don’t have any leisure activities we can still be satisfied by just being with our family.
