teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

☒ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☒ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to

it via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation:
I will start off with a video I created presenting what the solar system is and describing it in detail.
The video will then end with me inviting each student to pick a planet from the solar system and to
prepare information to make their own video presentation. Students will have to watch my video to
be aware of what is needed to complete this project successfully and use Adobe to create their own.
Each video will be sent out to the rest of the class for everyone to watch to. I will provide feedback
and let the students know if they met all of the criteria for the project.
Managing student learning:
After listening to my podcast and watching my video, student will then have to start doing their own
research on the planet they chose. Students will then have to create a video presentation for the
class to watch.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection:
The use of video recording will cover multiple UDL principles. Students will have to be engaged in
order to watch my video and know what they have to do to complete the project. Students will also
have the opportunity to express themselves with the video recording as they will be using their own
voice. So, these cover engagement, action, and expression.
Reflection:
I think students will really enjoy this lesson and project. I would love to see what all of the students
would be able to create and how creative they will get.
