As an institution committed to regional development, CAF is
working to help Latin America achieve the objectives of the
Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020
declared by the United Nations in May 2010.

Our commitment is to promote programs that raise awareness


of the problem and help reduce traffic fatalities and injuries
across the region.

To be successful, CAF seeks to implement a "safety system"


approach that includes training andresearch. CAF promotes
best practices and implements programs and projects that
reduce road crashes and their negative impact on society.

In Latin America CAF initiatives aim to support national and regional governments in the following areas:
