FACT ABOUT MT.SAMAT

MOUNT SAMAT
302 ft (92 m) height, it's the second tallest cross in the world
Mt. Samat in Bataan is one of the two sites that stood out in the fight against
the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II, another one is Corregidor
Island in Cavite. Mount Samat served as the last bastion of the allied forces of
the Philippines and America. It is now a memorial place that gives honor to
people who gave so much in defending the Philippines against Japanese
aggression. A very fitting tribute.
Bringing your own car is a good idea as you may drive up until the Dambana
ng Kagitingan parking area where you only need to walk for a minute to reach
the foot of the prominent enormous cross. Also, albeit the travel is long, the
scenic views are very soothing to the soul
