 Standard: Older people have an initial assessment on admission to hospital, which identifies
their current health needs and any predisposing conditions which may heighten the risk of
healthcare-associated harm, and where care and treatment can most appropriately be
provided.
 Competencies: Nurses should have competencies such as cooperation and empowerment of
the patient and family, ease of solace in the older, comprehensive geriatric appraisal,
improvement, implementation and assessment of care plan, advancement of information and
clinical capability; and training with the goal that they can work effectively during the care and
consideration of the old.
 Issues and concern: Older people often see various medical experts, and it is essential to
guarantee that everything is coordinated and every one of the individual specialists they see
know about their circumstances and the drugs they are taking to stay away from potential
conflicts.
