Arts Integration Lesson

Standards:
Re.1.I Explain reasons for selecting music citing characteristics found in the music and
connections to interest, purpose, and context.
Re.2.I Describe how understanding context and the way the elements of music are manipulated
inform the response to music.

Storyboard Practice Page
Create a rough draft of your storyboard. At the top of the box give a rough sketch of your
scene. Below the drawing please write down the measure numbers your scene is happening at,
then write a description of what is happening. The minimum number of scenes is 6, but you
can add more if you want.

music conveys a story by watching three
theatrical music examples.
Activity 2 Students will design a storyline to
go along with Moonlight Tango based on their
understanding of the context, emotions, and
historical background of the piece.

Refer to warm up #5 that covers:
● Dynamics
● WASP (Weight, Angle, Speed,
Placement)
Pass out brainstorm paper, write down things
that are interesting or inspire you because we
are creating our own scenes to Moonlight
Tango.
Watch The Nutcracker and Hamilton scenes.
Please write down your thoughts or ideas of
your classmates that you like.
● What were the main events that
happened during the song?
● What made these scenes interesting?
● How did their movements and acting
connect with the music?
Now we are going to play through the piece
and jot down ideas on the back of the
brainstorm paper of what we think is
happening in Moonlight Tango.

some ideas. Take 3 volunteers to say their
ideas quickly before moving on to the next
