The Death of Kemberly Achas

The greatest opponent we have is our own mind because our character is the primary
cause of most of our troubles or negative things happening to us. Once we start to be affected
by an addictive substance, we can never think rationally again. Drug addiction is one of the
main causes of crime in the present generation. It is a crime to lack self- and mind-control. An
innocent disagreement can develop into a terrible crime. This is relevant to the recent viral
news stories about domestic abuse killing women.

A third-year college student Kemberly Achas, his live-in partner Edson Campo Jamisula,
27, and their nine-month-old son resided in Purok 9, Poblacion Sun, Don Carlos, Bukidnon. Her
companion is unemployed. Kemberly was mauled and tabbed by her live-in spouse after a
contentious disagreement inside their home at Purok 9, Poblacion Sur, Don Carlos town at
around 3:10 pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023, and she was confirmed dead at a hospital in Don
Carlos, Bukidnon. Authorities named Edson Campo Jamisula as the culprit and Kemberly Achas,
age 22, as the victim. He attempted to get away, but responding cops caught him. An incident
captured on CCTV that went viral via social media infuriated many online users. This was seen
on their home's CCTV system, which some news reports claimed that the house has a canteen.
According to reports, the suspect used broken glass to stab the victim on various parts of her
body after the pair got into a violent disagreement inside their home. The victim allegedly
wanted to breastfeed their nine-month-old kid but the suspect allegedly objected, which
caused the fight. In an interview with the Raffy Tulfo team, it was revealed that the arguments
began as soon as the suspect learned he was heading to a rehabilitation facility. The suspect
heard their family talking about it previously. Eventually, in response to the situation, he tells
the family to leave their home so they can speak privately with Kemberly, his live-in partner.
The private discussion did not go well and resulted in a disagreement. A major crime then
happened. The suspect locked the door so that no one could enter as their parents left to give
them a private space to speak. Kemberly was inside the house with her baby. Due to the noise
coming from their home, the neighbors were alerted of the crime as it was being committed.
They attempt to open the door, but it is locked and they are having no luck. The nine-month-old
child is also seen falling from the home's sofa in the cctv camera as the crime is being
committed. The victim was taken urgently to Don Carlos Doctor's Hospital for medical attention,
but the attending physician declared the patient dead on arival. The suspect escaped the crime
site but was later apprehended by Don Carlos Municipal Police Station authorities. The suspect
was reportedly a former drug user who completed rehab, according to a police probe that went
further.

Sadly, given the rise in drug addiction worldwide, particularly in the Philippines, this
generation seems to be more prone to crime similar to this. As everyone's lives matter, I hope
that this kind of crime can be reduced. It is too frightful for everyone, not just for women. I
would also like to take this opportunity to tell all of the girls that you should learn more about
the personality of the person you will be living with. It is crucial that you do a background check
at the very least. You must always remember not to put your trust in anyone if you want to stay
secure. Till you are familiar with everyone's interests, behaviors, and lifestyle, treat everyone as
a stranger. It is just being observant, not making judgements.
