in terms of isosteric heat of adsorption (Chue et al. 1995) which were reported as 15.6 Kj/mol, 37.2 KJ/mol and 12.8 KJ/mol for methane, carbon dioxide and nitrogen respectively by Cavenati et al. (2004). Gas solid film heat transfer coefficient (58 W/m2/K) was calculated by using correlation (Wakao and Funazkri, 1978). Gas wall heat transfer coefficient (37 W/m2/K) was calculated based on correlations (Aspen). Wall thermal conductivity 13.4 W/m2/K (Heat and mass transfer data book) According to the experimental setup (Figure-02) and authors statement (Da silva, 2001), the adsorption column was placed in a convective air furnace. The heat transfer coefficient for forced convection of air lies between 10 to 200 W/m2/K. The calculated value (Table-01/ Section-01) of the heat transfer coefficient for some standard wall thickness also confirms the forced convection with air. External heat transfer coefficient was calculated for several wall thicknesses. Figure-1 reflects that any wall thickness with corresponding external heat transfer coefficient (Table-01) produces same breakthrough and temperature profile. Heat of adsorbed phase has negligible effect on column dynamics (Figure-03). Figure-04 shows the final results.
