Uber Business Cases and Written Midterm Case

Uber is an established ride-sharing service that runs in several nations worldwide. You

can examine Its business strategy arose as a competitive approach to the conventional business

model since it allowed consumers to quickly and easily summon a car to their location by

tapping their smartphones.

As a consultant for the company, I see the classification of drivers as one of Uber's most

significant business challenges. Most of the time, the company treats the drivers as independent

contractors, enabling them to avoid paying employee-related benefits and other costs. The

question of how Uber can sustain its competitive edge in the face of evolving rules and mounting

demand to categorize its drivers as workers are covered in the midterm case.

As the firm's consultant, the firm needs to partner with a third-party organization to create

a portable benefits platform that will provide drivers access to benefits such as retirement plans,

compensation, and insurance without being classified as employees. In doing this, the Uber

business needs to consider additional strategies such as revising its business model or working

with regulators to create a new classification of the drivers. The company can also avoid the

administrative burdens and costs associated with providing benefits directly to its drivers.

By resolving the issue of driver classification, this solution will benefit both the operators

and the uber business in the long run while preserving uber's adaptable workforce and

competitive pricing.
