3-4 Internet Research on Corporate Codes of Ethics

Use the Internet to find and report on two organizations in your career field that have
posted their codes of ethics on their websites.
Example: Search words are “marketing” + company’s or organization’s name + “ethics”
OR “code of conduct.” Read the web link that is associated with the company’s website.
OR go to the company website and, if there is a search field, type in “ethics.”

What are the key topics covered in the code of ethics?

- In the code of ethics, the translator has to conduct themselves in a professional


manner with everyone in the organization. Must always comply and represent
honest representation of the company’s responsibility and capability. Be
appropriate to clients/patients without being bias. As well as maintain and
improve of any knowledge, skills and/or abilities to continue a professional
development.

What are the key topics covered in the code of ethics?

- Code of Ethics to IAPTI tries to establish a minimal professional good practice


which is expect from very member of the organization. They commit to fully
respect in practicing the translating and interpreting professional. Organization
maintain a non-bias profession work with clients and maintain privacy to them as
well.

How are the codes of ethics different? Are the differences significant? Explain.
- These codes are quite similar yet have there on interception on different code.
One keeps it very professional while one is treating it minimal. Even with both
are organizations that can help from clients, patients and in law enforcements.

Summarize the code of ethics for this career field.

- In this this field, privacy and respect means a lot in this field. For one to translate
it shows that you must also respect the privacy of the interpretation that it is
coming from as it can be from law to healthcare. This career also demands that
one should not be bias because of the translator’s beliefs, religion, or opinions.

Based on its code of ethics, which organization would you rather work for? Why?

- The American Translators Association is more interesting for me to join to the


career field. It is more professional like and requires more knowledge for their
Association. This can be a challenge for future opportunities in the future of this
career as well as give me more knowledge for this profession.
