University of Westminster GREAT Scholarships

Terms and Conditions 2023


1. To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

 Be an Overseas student for fee purposes from (and residing in) Egypt, Ghana or Vietnam
and have an offer for a place on a full-time postgraduate course at the University of
Westminster starting in September 2023
 Have a minimum UK equivalent 2:1 Honours Degree
2. The scholarship of £10,000 is awarded for a full-time postgraduate course at the University of
Westminster starting in September 2023

3. The scholarship will be paid directly to the University’s Finance Offices on behalf of the student by
the Scholarships office toward tuition fees within the first semester.

4. All decisions are made by the scholarship panel and are final. Any applications submitted after the
published deadline will not be considered. All applicants will be informed of the outcome within 3
weeks of the deadline. Please note we are unable to provide individual feedback.

5. You must not be in receipt of any other source of funding, either from the University of
Westminster or from another external funding body.

6. Scholarships cannot be deferred to another intake.

7. If an awardee decides to change programmes, they will only be entitled to keep the scholarship
subject to university approval.

8. The following categories of students are not eligible:

a. Postgraduate Diploma

b. Professional courses (eg RIBA pt III, ACCA, CIMA, CiLEX)

c. Conversion courses (eg Graduate Diploma in Law)

d. Integrated Masters/MPhil/PhD student

e. Part time students

9. Successful candidates are expected to:

 Contribute to the wider marketing and outreach activity of the University of Westminster.
 Represent the high standards of the GREAT brand by becoming an advocate for scholarships
 Be willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss
experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK
 Be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and act as an ambassador for the
GREAT Scholarships, by sharing experiences of studying in the UK with future GREAT scholars
 As an alumnus of the GREAT Scholarships, be willing to occasionally speak to potential
candidates about your experience of studying in the UK.
