Polar bear

The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is an animal in danger of extinction.

It is a species of carnivorous mammal of the bear family. Polar bears

live in the arctic region of the circumpolar north. They are found in

Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Russia and Norway.

The polar bear is approximately 2/2.5 meters long. The color of the

bear's skin is white and can be camouflaged. The tail of this species is

between 7 and 13 cm.

The bear mainly eats seal, it also consumes musk, reindeer, birds and

bird eggs, walruses, other polar bears and plants. The animals that

commonly eat on polar bears are arctic foxes, other bear species or

birds.

On the other hand, the polar bear is in danger of extinction because

of the loss of its habitat, sea ice, and the climate change, that is the

biggest threat to the survival of polar bears. Furthermore, they also

face other problems such as conflicts with humans, hunting and

impacts generated by industry.

To avoid the polar's bear extintion we can save on electricity and gas

and consume local products. This way, we are going to avoid the

climate change and save the habitat of this species.
