SPEAKING TASK – CUT 2 DDI009

Arrange a flight – 20%

With your partner, role-play the following conversation taking into account the evaluation
criteria given below:

A: Hello, good morning.

B: Good morning. Welcome to Top Airlines. How can I help you?

A: I’m in a hurry. The traffic was terrible. Can I still make the 207 flight to New York?

B: Ummm. Let me see… I’m sorry. It took off twenty minutes ago.

A: Oh, no! What should I do?

B: Well, there is another flight that leaves in two hours. Is it ok?

A: Oh, yes, please! It’s perfect. What time should I check-in?

B: You should be here by 3:15 p.m., and you must have a new ticket.

A: Great. Is it a direct or non-stop flight?

B: It’s a direct flight. It has one stop in Panama.

A: That’s ok. Could I have an aisle seat, please.

B: Yes, but it will be a little bit more expensive.

A: How much will it be? I really need to catch that flight.

B: It will be $120, and $30 extra for the flight change.

A: Ummm, That’s not too bad. I’ll take it.

B: Ok, so it will be $150… How would you like to pay? Cash or credit?

A: Cash, please.

B: Ok…Oh, one last thing; remember to take your sweater and extra gloves. It’s quite cold at this
time of the year in New York.

A: Thanks. I almost forget! Where can I get one? I left mine in the taxi.

B: Well, there’s a clothes shop on the second floor. You can buy one there.

A: Thank you very much. You were so kind.

B: Welcome! Have a nice flight!
