Electric Circuits
• The closed path in which the electrons flow from voltage
source or current source is called an electric circuit.
• Basic Components of an Electrical Circuit:
1. Resistor
2. Capacitor
3. Inductor
4. Voltage source
5. Current Source

Electric Circuits
1. DC CIRCUITS – Direct Current Circuits

A circuit consists of resistors, direct voltage and direct current

sources

2. AC CIRCUITS – Alternating Current Circuits

A circuit consists of Resistors, inductors, Capacitors,

alternating voltage and alternating current sources

Circuit analysis is the process of determining the values unknown quantities

in a AC / DC circuits.

RESISTOR (R)
• It is defined as the property of the material by which it opposes
the flow of current through the material
• It is denoted as ‘R’ and the unit of the resistance is ohm(Ω)
• The symbol is,
