What’s In:

1. What I have noticed from the picture is various of men looking/ facing the different parts of an
elephant and give incorrect answer from what they are looking at.
2. No, they are all incorrect. However, I believe that their answers are valid, since they are all
facing on the different parts of an elephant which are symmetrical on what they have answered.
Perhaps that is how they perceived it, and in life we have our own different perspective and we
must respect that.
3. I believe that the picture implies about the different perspective of every person in the world.
And we, people, believe on what we perceived, we just don’t rely on other people’s perception.

What’s More:

1. Reading
2.
A. I believe Plato meant by “Unexamined Life” is when we don’t question our identity, life,
things around us, environment or even our religion beliefs, then nothing will happen without
trying to understand around us.
B. They believed that they could learn to swim by simply writing down what the teacher said.
However, we should try to get out from our comfort zone because nothing will happen if we
don’t try to sort things out.
C. Perhaps the teacher believes that the experience is the best teacher, even if you keep writing
the instructions if you wouldn’t try to swim in the swimming pool, you will not learn. Because
nothing will happen without trying.
3.
A. Day-to-day life
B. Reflection
C. Application
4.
A.
- Day-to-day life- refers on what we do in everyday life.
- Reflection- refers to a mirror that help to us regulate our emotions and sync up with ourselves
and others.
- Application- refers on how we will put certain things into practice that will help us to
understand our daily living life.
B. Day-to-day life is what we always encountered every day, and every time. This could be our
morning routine, what we do in the afternoon, and what we do all day such as eating foods,
bathing, and talking with our family and friends. Meanwhile, in reflection when we realize what
we do and learn from our mistakes. Our thoughts engage in a certain state wherein the mind or
our conscience think of our actions and judge it whether it was good or bad. And for application,
we encounter this when we obtain knowledge, and we apply it in our everyday life. We can put
this as the information we have gained generates into a new ability or evolve the skill that we
do. For example, we did a bad job at doing a certain task but after we learned the correct way to
do it, we applied this knowledge to improve.
C. My insights and answer about reflection and application to our day-to-day life is that we,
people, became more aware on our mistakes and if we keep doing the same mistake, we can
put damage into the other people’s feelings. So, having reflection and self-awareness are the
key to correct what mistake we have done from the past. And also, to improve the things we
need to improve, and by applying it makes us a better version of ourself.

What I Have Learned:

• I have learned that Philosophy is a Greek word that is often translated as “the love of wisdom.”
In other words, philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and
existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline. Applying philosophy in our
daily lives, it can definitely help us to live a better life.
• I feel that Philosophy is important because it will help us to try to understands what we are
curious about, whether we get right or wrong answer. But at least we tried and there will be
peace of mind from our unanswered questions.
• I commit to apply Philosophy in our daily living life.
