Rotations: when you turn a shape around

In order to rotate a shape, you need:

a centre of rotation either on the shape itself or off the shape
the angle
the direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) at which the shape rotates

If using a protractor to rotate the rectangle:

1. place the centre of the protractor on the centre of rotation.
2. Determine the angle of rotation and where the new points will be.
3. Examine the distance of the points from the centre of rotation when the 0º line
intersects the points and count the number of spaces.
4. Place the points at their new location, using the angle of rotation and the
distance from the centre of rotation, and then connect the points of your
shape.
