Debate 1
Pro arguments

The arguments that were presented in favor of artificial intelligence are the following:

Virtual assessment without human intervention, evaluation managers to design exams with

AI Through artificial intelligence, institutions can apply evaluations to students in a more

automated, safe and efficient way. , keeping track and controlling the academic achievement

of students is a process that can be as exhausting as evaluating tests and strengthening

personalized education through crowdsourcing. At the time, artificial intelligence programs

for the analysis and management of learning make it possible to control the progress of

students, recording their progress in detail based on variables such as the number of correct

answers in a test, the resolution time and the recurrence of errors in certain questions. Finally,

from apps to textbooks to multimedia content, this AI determines which materials will have

the greatest pedagogical impact on our target student, other similar systems can even create

tests automatically from previous content, reducing exam preparation time by up to 80%.

Con arguments

The counterarguments that were presented in the debate were the following: the

risk of AI replacing teachers and limiting social and emotional interaction between students.

If students spend too much time working with AI programs, they may miss out on developing

essential social and emotional skills, such as empathy, teamwork, or conflict resolution. it

can limit students' creativity and critical thinking. If they rely heavily on AI programs for

answers and solutions to their problems, they may lose the ability to think independently, or

be unable to come up with creative solutions to challenges. Also, it can hinder the teacher's
ability to probe and interact with the student. If only new technologies are applied to monitor

students, there is a risk of excluding students with problems.

Jury decisions

Most of the jury decided that artificial intelligence in education is better for people compared

to the pros and cons, in such a way that they were 4 to 2. I was concluded that AI can improve

the efficiency and personalization of education, allowing students to learn at their own pace

and adapt to their individual needs. However, it is important to consider concerns about the

negative effects of AI on children's cognitive and social-emotional development. Finding the

right balance between the use of AI and human interaction in education is necessary to ensure

that students develop both technical skills and essential social-emotional skills.
