What is eng.join!
eng.join! is a DAAD funded project at THI under the roof of the AWARE Center which offers 3
scholarships to THI students of Engineering and Management for a stay abroad at the partner
university UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina; Joinville, Brazil) in summer term 2021
(expected from March – mid-July, 4,5 months).
The scholarship includes:
- Single travel allowance (fixed sum, for all travel costs): 1.575€
- Monthly scholarship rate for the first 4 (full) months: 1.175€ (in the 5th month, you will
receive 39€ per day)
- Monthly lump sum for travel insurance: 35€

Who can apply


Exclusively students from Engineering and Management ("Intern. Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen") (B.
Eng.) holding the German citizenship and having completed at least 3 semesters before the stay
abroad.
In case you have a citizenship other than German, you can receive the scholarship if you fulfill at least
the following requirements:
- You have a valid residence permit for Germany.
- You will have completed at least 4 semesters at a German university before the stay abroad or
have any other connection to Germany shown in your CV (e.g., attendance at a German
school).
- Brazil is not your country of origin/home country.

How to apply

The following documents have to be submitted in English as one pdf file (max. 15 MB) to aware@thi.de
until June 6, 2021 (23:59)1:

- Motivation letter (max. 1 page)


- CV (max. 2 pages)
- Current transcript of records
- Optional: Certificate of Portuguese language skills
- Optional: Proof of voluntary work at THI (active or former membership in student
organizations, current or earlier participation in Buddy program or similar)

Selection Criteria
- Academic performance
- Motivation, knowledge of Portuguese, voluntary work at THI
