“What Am I?”
a. I am the common endpoint of an angle.
1. Drill b. I am an angle whose measure is 90 degrees.
c. I am an angle whose measure is less than 90 degrees.
d. I am an angle whose measure is more than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees.
Let the pupils look around the classroom or even around the garden.
2. Motivation
What shape can you see? Elicit from them the idea that everything around us has shape.
B. Lesson Proper

Figures such as square, triangle, rectangles, etc. are used to form the objects above. They
are called plane figures.
A close plane figure with sides or line segments is called a polygon.
Polygons are named according to the number of sides.
Look at the figure below.
They are made up of line segments that are joined together. The line segments are called
sides and do not cross each other. There are exactly two sides that met at a point.
Triangle is a polygon with 3 sides and 3 angles.
1.1. Modelling (“I Quadrilaterals is a polygon with 4 sides and 4 angles.
DO”)

Group the pupils into pairs. Distribute a geoboard/graphing paper to every group. Tell them to form
1.3 Guided Practice
(“We Do” )
a triangle and quadrilaterals out of the grid.

1.2 Independent Tell whether each figure is a triangle or a quadrilateral.

Practice 1. 3.
(“You Do”)
2.
How do we describe Triangles and Quadrilaterals.
C. Summarizing the
Lesson A triangle is a plane figure with 3 sides and 3 angles.
A quadrilateral is a plane figure with 4 sides and 4 angles.

Tell whether each kind of angle is right, acute, or obtuse.

D. Application:
Show different kinds of triangles and quadrilaterals.
Draw a triangle and quadrilaterals in each objects mentioned.
1. Abe is reading a book.
III. EVALUATION 2. Ian is using a tripod in doing his experiment.
3. Amado id opening the door
4. Gani standing near the traffic sign that says Children’s Crossing
5. Rafael is writing on the chalk board.
