Calgary: a paradise of nature and gastronomy

It may sound familiar to you, but it is more likely that you do not have it on your radar, or that you
have to go to Google to locate it on the map. If it is not among your favorite destinations, in this
note we are going to explain why it is worth visiting Calgary, in western Canada, and taking a trip
to the Rocky Mountains, which has one of the most visited national parks. and most beautiful in
the world, Banff Park.

This national park, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, is 5,000 kilometers long and extends
between lakes with crystalline turquoise waters, 2,000-meter-high mountains, wild animals, deer,
trees. Pure nature.

On the city's rivers, fans go fly fishing and rafting. In the facilities that were built for the Olympic
Games, skiing and all kinds of winter sports are practiced.

In addition to the must-see Banff, Calgary, which hosted the 1988 Winter Olympics, is well worth a
visit. It is a city built between the Canadian prairie and the mountains. It is more than a thousand
meters above sea level and two great rivers, the Bowl and the Elbow, flow around it.

Located in the province of Alberta, Calgary proudly carries on its cowboy tradition. You can see in
the oldest artisan leather boot factory (Alberta Boot Company) how footwear is made to order and
the entire manufacturing process, which is carried out manually. Eytan Broder is its CEO. On a tour
of the factory facilities, he shows us the sole of one of the boots he was commissioned for. The
measure is huge. Twice an average size. “It's for a park ranger from Calgary,” he says. "It's big isn't
it?", he laughs.
