COMPREHENSIVE REPORT

I came to know about opportunity to do

internship in MISSION AMRIT SAROVAR-
JAL DHAROHAR SANRAKSHAN, offered
by MoHUA (Ministry of Housing and Urban
Affairs) in co-ordination with AICTE (All
India Council for Technical Education)
Our mentor Mr. Vipin Jaishwal sir, the
director of LUCKNOW INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY, LUCKNOW, U.P.
informed us for doing this internship.
The water body named ‘Tomb of Nawab
of Sadar Jahan, Pihani, Hardoi , UP’, was
assigned to us by AICTE on 14-July 2022 .
Vipin sir had a whatsapp group for
interns where he keeps informed about what
work is to do and get experience.
We visited the assigned water body for the
first time on 18 July 2022.
About The Tomb

It is the tomb of SADAR-E-JAHAN and BADAR-E JAHAN

(said to be the finance minister or may be chief justice in the
HUMAYUN’S reign) and the area is said to be given as a
present to the minister by the “HUMAYUN” himself after
the escaped from the war between him and “SHERSHAH
SURI” in Bilgram and he took the shelter in the jungles of
Pihani .
The area was then colonised by him (SADAR-E-JAHAN) in
the year 1540 and he also built a mosque named Masjid-E-
Damisk (Damascus) in the premises.
After the death of Nawab Sadar Jahan, his son constructed
the ROZA in the middle of pihani.
Activities performed:
 Identifying the location, size, extent and water holding
capacity:

It is located at the middle of Pihani ,Hardoi.

 Size and extent – 20362 sq.m
 Water holding capacity- 61086 cum.
URBAN FABRICATION
Urbanization is a global trend reflecting the growing population of
the world. It can be achieved by-
 Improvement in transport facilities to connecting highways to
the water body and near the town area.
 Buffer zone development maintenance and the existing
activities within the buffer zone.
 Machinery and the man power required for maintenance of
restored water body.
 Awareness and training programs for local public.
 Improvement in lightening around the water body for
attraction of tourists.
CATCHMENT AREA
The information on both the catchment land use
and catchment area has the potential to be
adopted into the conservation and management
of pond.
This paper present a study on the catchment
area of ‘ The Tomb of Sadar Jahan, pihani,
Hardoi.
We combined an extensive field survey and
detail analysis of sediment and water chemistry
with GIS-derived data to estimate the
relationship between the area of the pond and the
area of their catchment.
