Provide an example of how pressure affects the form or function of marine animals.

The pressure in the ocean affects marine organisms with or without organs that require
space to fill up with oxygen like lungs or other organs like bladders or stomachs. There
is always a challenge for animals to maintain their oxygen supply before they need to
resurface. Streamlined diving animals are a good example who can reduce the use of
oxygen for locomotion. Other birds, fishes, and snakes are good streamline divers as
well. Since pressure increases with depth, it limits the range of many organisms in the
deep sea. Organisms on land are under 1 atmosphere of pressure at sea level with the
weight of air above them while marine organisms however also have the weight of water
on them.
