TREES

1. KATMON (Dillenia Philippinensis)

Katmon is found only in the Philippines, being common in


forests of low and medium altitude throughout the islands in
primary and secondary forests. It can also be used for urban
greening and is a favorite among garden enthusiasts. This
evergreen tree can grow as high as 15 meters and its wood is
suitable for furniture.

2. BANABA (Lagerstroemia Speciosa)

Banaba is native to tropical southern Asia. Known also as the Pride


of India, It is also widely cultivated as an ornamental plant in
tropical and subtropical areas. The leaves of the Banaba and other
parts are used widely in the Philippines
GRASS

1. RIBBON GRASS (Phalaris arundinacea)

Ribbon grass plants are easy to manage


varieties that provide color transition
and graceful foliage. It is a relatively
small grass, growing only about a foot
high.

2. BERMUDA GRASS (Cynodon dactylon)

Bermuda grass is water conservative


and a great surface for sports fields, golf
courses, parks, and high traffic yards.

3. BLUEGRASS (genus Poa)

It is found in temperate and tropical


climates worldwide, and several have
naturalized in areas outside their
native range. Many species are useful
as lawn, pasture, and forage grasses,
and some are cultivated as
ornamentals.
SHRUBS

1. FIRE PLANT (Acalypha wilkesiana)

This large leaf shrub will add a


tropical feel to any garden with its
striking foliage that boasts a red to
bronze backdrop with splashes of
green throughout.

2. GOLDEN DURANTA (Duranta erecta)


This plant is great for containers or in
the ground and are commonly used as
accent shrub or trellis plant in
landscape. It is petite, delicate, wiry,
and large sprawling shrub with an open
habit.

3. PHILIPPINE TEA (Carmona retusa)


It is a tropical shrub quite popular in
Southeast Asia. Its neat look, tiny shiny leaves,
easy maintenance and high ability for shaping
by cutting, made it famous as a garden and
park plant in tropics.
