• A young person sets a record, for example, climbing a mountain, swimming across
seas, walking a great distance.

a) Brainstorm your ideas for the report. Copy the diagram opposite

b) Copy the table below and structure your ideas using this paragraph plan.
Headline
Paragraph 1: A one sentence summary of the story.
Paragraph 2 Summary repeated but with a little more detail
of whom, where,
Paragraph 3: A comment from someone involved in the story.
Paragraph 4: Bring the story to an end, but also refer to the
future.
Other examples of similar events. This will put
the event in
proportion for the reader.
