NEW LITERACIES, FUNCTIONAL LITERACY AND MULTILITERACY

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the student must be able to:
A. discuss the new literacies, functional literacy and multiliteracy.
B. explain the impact of new literacies on instruction.
C. draw a poster about literacy.

II. Subject Matter:

Topic: NEW LITERACIES, FUNCTIONAL LITERACY AND MULTILITERACY

Learning References: PED 11 Module 3 (Book)


Methods: Discussion

Okay, before we will start to our discussion, let me show these two (2) pictures to the class
and guest the topic that I will going to discuss this afternoon.

You will be given 5 mins to analyze the pictures.

all about.

-LITERACY

So, what comes in to your mind when you hear the word literacy?

Literacy – is an ability of a person to read and write.

Okay class, from the picture a while ago what do you think the lesson that I will going to
discuss?

Okay, very good. Our lesson for today is all about new literacy because we will be going back
to the past how literacy is.

Here are the objectives for today's lesson:

A. discuss the new literacies, functional literacy and multiliteracy.

B. explain the impact of new literacies on instruction.

C. draw a poster of your understanding in literacy.

I need one (1) representative per group to pick your topic and draw what you
understand.
You will be given 5 mins. and choose your representative to give an insight to the
drawing.
