We live in a concrete jungle and if someone comes and
destroys it, we’ll be left devasted. it is immensely difficult for us to imagine what the wildlife must go through when they’re habitats are snatched away because of thousands of companies exploiting the forests for their production and this is just one of the parts of the problem. the first time a measure was taken for preserving the forest wealth of our country was in 1980 through the forest preservation act. which restricted any use of the forest which was deemed to be a non-forest process and only reforestation was allowed. these provisions did go on to help with conditions by increasing the coverage of land by forests from 19.49% in 1987 to 21.67% in 2019. despite that, there still is a need for a significant development. which is being obstructed by the many other factors that cause depletion of forests. forest fires being one of the root causes for it. in 2021, until now there has been around 82,170 forest fire alerts. many of the reasons to these fires is absurd which could have been prevented by taking careful measures. its high time to understand the cruciality of the conditions. to recognize what the extinction of forests may cost us. its appalling to see how we were taught about deforestation and how it causes climate change and global warming since we were 7- year-old and now being 20 years old we still are facing climate change and get to hear about how our earth is getting more heated. we many times forget that the forests that we have cut off were home to many wildlife. we look at news showing wild animals entering cities and causing panic amongst people whereas the point that we’re missing here is those animals went rogue in our cities only because we have occupied there home and they have nowhere else to go. today, we are in need of oxygen cylinders because of a virus but we’re not far away from the day that we’ll need oxygen cylinders because we have sucked out the life out of the last tree on earth.
