epends on how big your kingdom is.

If by kingdom map, you mean the local area for

an adventure, you want an area that is about two weeks travel from end to end. So
if there is a road or a lot of wide open plains, maybe about 200ish miles square,
less if it is a more rugged area. As for hex sizes, others have already recommended
the 24 mile hex, but for the scale of a local area that might be too big to be
really useful, if you map ends up just being 10x15 hexes.

Personally, I like using 6 miles hexes for two reasons. One, in an open plain, the
horizon is about 3 miles away, so from the center of a flat 6 mile hex you can see
the whole thing. Two, you can get more detailed with travel distance and time if
you like that kind of detail (which I do). So for an open road, you can travel 4
hexes (24 miles) in a normal day of travel. For open plains, 3 hexes a day. 2 hexes
a day for more rugged terrain like forests or hills. And just 1 hex a day for the
really tough stuff like mountains, swamps, and jungles.

Here is Matt Colville's video about The Local Area, where I got the 2 weeks of
travel size idea and where my thoughts on this started.
